Privacy notice

I Sold My Home is an early-preview service for homeowners in British Columbia. We handle personal information in line with BC's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). This notice explains what we collect, why, and your choices.

What we collect

Why we use it

To provide your account and selling roadmap, store your files, respond to requests you make, secure the service, and understand which features are useful. We don't sell personal information, show ads, or use third-party advertising or tracking pixels.

Sharing with partner realtors (only when you ask)

If you ask a realtor for advice, we share your name, email address, phone number (if you gave one), property type, city, timeline, and your question with a licensed BC realtor in our partner network so they can contact you. We record your consent with each request. Your documents, photos, address, and approximate value are not shared. Once shared, the realtor and their brokerage handle that information under their own privacy obligations, so deleting your account here doesn't delete their copy; ask them directly.

Where it's stored

Your information is stored on a private server we operate in a DigitalOcean data centre in San Francisco, United States, so it may be subject to US law. Documents and photos are stored outside any public web folder and can only be downloaded by you while you're logged in. Backups are kept on the same server for up to 14 days.

AI processing (only when you ask)

If you choose to summarize a document or draft listing text with AI, the document or listing details are sent to Anthropic (Claude API), which is based in the United States. We ask for your consent each time and record when you gave it. Nothing is sent to an AI provider unless you request it. See Anthropic's privacy policy.

Service providers

DigitalOcean hosts our server. Anthropic (Claude API) processes content only when you request an AI feature. If email is enabled, an email delivery provider sends account emails, such as password resets, and notifies us of new realtor advice requests.

Cookies

We use one essential cookie to keep you logged in. We don't use analytics or advertising cookies.
